H BY HAKAAN YILDIRIM A/W 2015 COLLECTION

Hakaan Yildirim took inspiration from one of his favourite movies: Grey Gardens. A movie based on mother and daughter Edith Ewing Bouvier Beale and Edie Bouvier Beale whose lives dramatically changed from the rich socialite scene to a poor reclusive life in their increasingly dilapidated mansion called Grey Gardens.

What inspired Hakaan the most is how Edie never let go of her unique style and her creativity in using same pieces in different styles despite the poverty and isolated life she led.

Hakaan takes Edie's signature scarf and creates a sense of strength by using leather instead of silk., Some are created in to sculptural headpiece showing a sense of freedom with wind blowing through the scarf .

The print incorporates a drawing of the mansion and grounds

Fabrics used are wool, silk, velvet, leather and fur

Colour palette: Black, green, red, cream and light beige tones.
